A true icon of world blues: Lou Marini of the Blues Brothers at Magic Blues. Opening with one of the best Swiss bluesmen! Evening not to be missed at all!
The Treves Blues Band, the Italian Blues “band” accompanied for the occasion of the 50th anniversary tour by a true icon of world blues, Lou Marini of the Blues Brothers, returns with great pleasure. Fabio Treves' adventure began back in 1974, when he decided to bring to the forefront and thus make known to the general public, in the era of singer-songwriters and Prog rock, the history and the great masters of the Blues. It was an incredible success, also dictated by the fact that Treves traveled the length and breadth of the peninsula for decades. The legendary Lou Marini of the Blues Brothers, often called an “unsung jazz hero,” is a true icon of world blues. He has made a name for himself as a sideman in various high-profile groups, and any prominent New York jazz musician will tell you he is “one of the best jazz musicians ever.” Marini, who lives in New York, is known for his chameleon-like ability to imagine and execute inventive ideas in jazz, rock, blues and classical music. An evening not to be missed at all!
Opening is the welcome return to the Magic Blues of Andy Egert, one of Switzerland's finest bluesmen guaranteed to play refined Blues in the style of Freddie King, Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, Peter Green and Johnny Winter, as well as acoustic Blues a la Robert Johnson. Andy Egert mixes all this with his very personal and deep feeling for the devil's music. In 2010 he was awarded the coveted “Swiss Blues Award” at the Basel Blues Festival. Welcome back Andy!

Treves Blues Band feat. Lou Marini Blues Brothers
USA-I

The Treves Blues Band, Italy’s premier blues band, returns with great pleasure for its 50th anniversary tour, accompanied on this special occasion by a true global blues icon: Lou Marini of the Blues Brothers. Fabio Treves' journey began back in 1974, when he set out to bring blues to the forefront and introduce its history and masters to a wider audience, during an era dominated by singer-songwriters and progressive rock. It was an incredible success, fueled by his relentless touring across the country. There is hardly a club that has not welcomed the Puma of Lambrate to its stage! The list of musicians who have performed live or recorded with the “maestro” is endless. He has also had the honor of sharing the stage with legendary artists, including the iconic Frank Zappa (Milan and Genoa, 1988). Today, from the height of his endless experience, he remains a key figure in the blues scene and valuable mentor for young musicians eager to explore the genre. Lou Marini, who shares a connection with Frank Zappa (Zappa in New York, 1976), is often referred to as an “unsung jazz hero.” A masterful multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, educator, and producer, he has built a remarkable career as a sought-after sideman in top-tier musical groups. Any renowned jazz musician in New York will tell you that he is “one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time.” Based in New York, Marini is celebrated for his chameleon-like ability to craft and perform inventive ideas across jazz, rock, blues, and classical music. He is truly one of the most prolific luminaries in the industry, demonstrating unwavering dedication to his craft. Throughout his career, Marini has been a key member of several prestigious musical groups, including the Woody Herman Orchestra, Doc Severinsen, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Band, Levon Helm & the RCO All-Stars, Dr. John, the Saturday Night Live (SNL) Band, The Blues Brothers, Maureen McGovern, the Lew Soloff Quintet, Blue Beck with Joe Beck, Eric Clapton, Red House, and the Magic City Jazz Orchestra.
