Atomic Rooster

UK

An unmissable event in Cevio for fans of 1970s British rock, featuring two authentic legends of British rock, members of the historic lineup. Singer Pete French and guitarist Steve Bolton (formerly with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend)  will take the stage with Atomic Rooster, one of the iconic Progressive rock bands. For connoisseurs of great music, the scheduled show will offer a chance to hear some true milestones, primarily from the albums Death Walks Behind You from 1970 and In Hearing Of... from 1971. The band will revive the original “seventies” sound, delivering historic tracks, thanks to their simply exceptional performance skills. Atomic Rooster was formed in 1969 by keyboardist Vincent Crane and drummer Carl Palmer (ELP). With the addition of bassist Nick Graham (Skin Alley), the trio released their debut album Atomic Rooster, regarded by critics as their best work. Their music was a blend of hard rock and Progressive elements, with mystical and occult themes, following one of the typical trends of the era (Black Sabbath). With the arrival of guitarist/singer John Du Cann and drummer Paul Hammond, the two albums mentioned above were released. With a new lineup change, featuring Steve Bolton on guitar, Ric Parnell on drums and Chris Farlowe (Colosseum) on vocals, they released their fourth album Made in England in 1972 and Nice 'n' Greasy in 1973. With further changes in the lineup, Crane continued to record less successful albums under the Atomic Rooster name throughout the rest of the seventies, eventually deciding to disband the group. In the early 1980s, Crane reformed the band with Du Cann and Preston Heyman, releasing their fifth self-titled album. After more lineup changes, with only Crane and Hammond remaining, the seventh and final studio album, Headline News, was released in 1983. Following Vincent Crane's death in 1989, Pete French, with the permission from Crane's widow, revived Atomic Rooster in 2016 alongside Steve Bolton, and the band continues to perform concerts around the world to this day.

Gut's

CH

Gut's, a rock band from the Lausanne area, returns to Vallemaggia Magic Blues. From walls of Marshall speakers, a raw guitar sound and a “plug and play” atmosphere, a high-powered show that takes you into the frenzy of 1970s rock 'n' roll is what defines Gut’s. The band's two founders, Benjy (rhythm guitar) and Luca (lead guitar), soon joined forces with Freddy (vocals), Ludo (drums) and Jonas (bass). With his vocals, dynamism, and presence Freddy captivates the audience from the very first moments, Luca's guitar solos are electrifying, Benjy's rhythmic riffs drive the band with precision, Yoann, the newest addition, hysterically hammers the toms, and Jonas delivers thunderous bass lines. They play almost exclusively original songs with a few covers (including a Chuck Berry song). Since August 2017, the band has won over audiences at both small and large festivals such as Sierre Blues, Venoge, Paillote, Corn Rock, Charivari Festival and even the Rock Oz'Arènes festival. The appreciation and support of their fans motivated them to participate in the “Music City Tour” competition in Geneva. Gut’s make no secret of their influences, drawing inspiration from the legendary AC/DC as they strive to carry on that same brand of raw, powerful rock that resonates across generations. Don’t miss them—this is a band you absolutely need to hear!
