11 July 2025 – 21:00 / Brontallo
Paul Rose, one of the world's most talented guitarists for the traditional Opening Night in Brontallo! And the welcome return to the Magic of Egidio "Juke" Ingala with his Jacknives.
Paul Rose (Newcastle, 1966) is undoubtedly one of the most talented guitarists in the world. We were able to admire him last year at Magic Blues with the Band of Friends! A basic rock guitarist, his extraordinary playing style touches on blues, country, jazz and folk, fused into a style entirely his own. Never does a concert go by where the audience does not say that Paul is the best guitarist they have ever heard. For some time now he has been the guitarist in Sari Schorr's band, and in the past he has also worked with such artists as Gerry McAvoy (Rory Gallagher's bassist for 25 years), Randy Brecker, Bill Evans (Miles Davis, Mick Jagger, Derek Trucks) and John 'Rabbit' Bundrick (Free, Bob Marley, Pete Townsend and 30 years with the Who). With his tight-knit trio, we expect a lightning-fast concert. Evening not to be missed
Opening the evening, and a welcome return to the Magic Blues, Egidio “Juke” Ingala & The Jacknives, who for many years have been one of the most in-demand “rockin' old-school blues” combos on the international blues scene, famous throughout Europe for their energetic live performances and the high quality of the music they perform. They know how to thrill audiences with their Chicago and West Coast Blues. Welcome back to the Vallemaggia Magic Blues Egidio!

Paul Rose Trio
UK

Paul Rose (Newcastle, 1966) is undoubtedly one of the most talented guitarists in the world. Last year, we had the chance to admire him at Magic Blues with the Band of Friends! Primarily a rock guitarist, his extraordinary style blends blues, country, jazz, and folk into a sound that’s entirely his own. At every concert, the audience often says Paul is the best guitarist they’ve ever heard. At a U.K. guitarist competition, Rory Gallagher himself awarded Paul the victory out of a thousand applicants, describing him as “a musician with a bright future.” Paul also earned the title of “Guitarist of the Year” in Guitarist Magazine. He has been the guitarist in Sari Schorr’s band for some time and has worked with renowned artists such as Gerry McAvoy (Rory Gallagher’s bassist for 25 years), Randy Brecker, Bill Evans (Miles Davis, Mick Jagger, Derek Trucks), and John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick (Free, Bob Marley, Pete Townsend, and 30 years with The Who). Paul’s album Double Life (2013) was recorded at the Steakhouse in Hollywood, California, with award-winning producer John Wooler (Gary Moore, Johnny Winter, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins). The album featured Terry Evans on vocals (35 years with Ry Cooder) and Richie Morales on drums (Al Di Meola, Brecker Brothers, Mike Stern) and received five-star reviews worldwide. With his tight-knit trio, we’re looking forward to a rocking concert.

Egidio Juke Ingala & The Jacknives
Italy

Egidio “Juke” Ingala and his Jacknives have been one of the most sought-after “rockin' old-school blues” combos on the international blues scene for many years, famous throughout Europe for their energetic live performances and the high quality of the music they perform. They know how to thrill audiences with their Chicago and West Coast blues. Ingala, who has been active on the blues scene since the mid-1980s, started out by studying the likes of Little Walter and George “Harmonica” Smith and then developed an articulate songwriting in an original way. A gifted instrumentalist with innate feeling, he has always paid special attention to the care of sound and the expressive potential of the harmonica, succeeding in shaping what Americans commonly call “big brass tone.” Growth and ultimate maturation came with the formative experience undertaken with the Dirty Hands band, a project path that enabled important collaborations with American musicians. The choice to embrace a solo career and the partnership with American guitarist Alex Schultz led to the recording of Drivin' & Jivin', best European Blues CD (2003). He began working with the Jacknives in 2010. The band was already famous for accompanying several harmonica players in a manner reminiscent of the legendary Chicago blues trio, the Aces.
