After a challenging year following the events of June 2024, the Vallemaggia Magic Blues is back on track for its 23rd edition. The legendary lineup has grown to include Duke Robillard, the four-member Band of Friends, the surprising Harlem Lake, and Selwyn Birchwood—major highlights of last summer.
"Naturally Magic" is the slogan chosen for the 2025 edition. "Naturally" emphasizes how Blues has, over the years, become a hallmark of the Vallemaggia region. The organizers have worked hard to present the many loyal fans with a lineup worthy of recent editions. This summer, the squares of Vallemaggia will once again resonate with magical vibes. And there's a major highlight this year! After more than sixty years, THE YARDBIRDS return—guests of the Lido di Locarno back in July 1964!
This edition will also feature three more legendary names in the "vintage section": LOU MARINI of the BLUES BROTHERS, and two headliners of Cevio's MAGIC ROCK NIGHTS—ATOMIC ROOSTER and FM.Alongside these renowned and established artists, several emerging or lesser-known groups and musicians—at least to local audiences—will take the stage, sure to uphold the high standards of past editions.
Also confirmed is the 7th EUROPEAN BLUES NIGHT, featuring two European finalists: LEIF DE LEEUW BAND from the Netherlands and THE BLUESBONES from Belgium. Giumaglio will host the FINALl of the 14th SWISS BLUES CHALLENGE, opened by DAN MUDD feat. BEARBEAT, winners of the SBC in 2023, followed by the four finalists (Amaury Faivre, Eve Gallagher, Delta Groove Band, and Noir & Gerber) and closed by the most recent winners: MARK SLATE & ROTOSPHERE. In keeping with a long-standing tradition, a large percentage of the bands will be performing at the Vallemaggia Magic Blues for the very first time.
